In the Press

It has been a good time for international press coverage of Sandstone's activities.

We have received an influx of articles appearing which covered various aspects of our heritage programme here in South Africa...

Narrow Gauge World – Sweet Steam by the Zambesi.

Narrow Gauge World – Sweet Steam by the Zambesi

The Sandstone Heritage Trust, and in particular the Sandstone Steam Railroad, has a long history with Sena Sugar Estates. Not only have we been there on a number of occasions but we carried out some fairly ambitious rescue operations approximately 10-years ago.

We were a bit late getting involved and by the time we met up with the management the bulk of the locomotives had been repatriated to Europe. However, we are very proud of the locomotives that we have from Sena, namely our Feldbahn, our two Peckett Saddle Tanks, as well as quite a number of other items.

David Joy, the Features Editor of Narrow Gauge World, has focused on Sena Sugar and here is his first article on the subject which reads very well.
