Thank
you....
It
is customary when the harvest is complete to take the harvest
team out for lunch. This we did at the new Ionia
Restaurant on a neighbouring farm. We are delighted that
this facility is now open because we do not have to travel into
town for functions like this.
Our
picture shows all those involved in the harvest, from the silo
operators, tractor drivers, combine harvester operators,
mechanics, and managers.
The
recent murder of one of the biggest farmers in the Eastern Free
State, Jacques Moll, is a stark reminder to us that we live
in dangerous times and Sandstone Estates is continuing to do
whatever it can to develop the best possible relationship with
the community and with its own people.
However,
with the unguarded Lesotho border running for some 16-kms on our
one boundary it is difficult because we cannot take all the
people in Lesotho to lunch. The fact that all Army and
Police patrols in the area have basically been withdrawn is a
very regrettable situation.
