Father
and son team, Roelf Snr & Roelf Jnr Jordaan, seen here
releasing Springbok into an area known as the old Game Camp at
Sandstone Estates. This area is immediately adjacent to our
locomotive shed and was originally a fenced off game area.
The farm released the game, took down the fence, and is currently
introducing new blood. Both Blesbok and Springbok, South
Africa's national icon, are being released. There are no
fences and we rely on these animals to detect the fact that they
are safe and protected at Sandstone. Contrary to people's
expectations they have no negative impact whatsoever on arable
crops, such as Soya beans etc.
