The neighbouring
country of Lesotho has discovered ingenious ways of acquiring
food from the South African side of the border. One of these
is to make traps in grasslands on the South African side of
the border. The company is currently cleaning up the entire
farm, cutting and baling excess grass for the compost
programme, and burning fire breaks as appropriate. In so doing
we discover all sorts of things including homemade steel traps
like this manufactured from fencing materials also acquired on
the South African side of the border.
In the Eastern
Free State as in many parts of South Africa one has to be
vigilant for many different challenges around the clock.
