Classic Caterpillar D8 increases farm productivity.

In line with its policy of utilizing select items from the Sandstone Heritage Trust collection of agricultural and construction plant our D8 has been put to work clearing non-indigenous trees for an expansion of the arable crop producing areas at Sandstone Estates. The pine trees were planted nearly 50-years ago in response to demand from an abortive pallet manufacturing facility in the area. Sandstone Estates believes in building up the population of indigenous trees and so over a period of time we hope to slowly replace non indigenous species. In fact the forest which now consists only of stumps being cleared by our D8 was destroyed by a major grass fire some years ago and all that is left is to remove the stumps. Very wet conditions and the fact that the D8 has the power to shift them means that the job can now be completed.
