We had excellent rains at Sandstone Estates over the past week which slowed them down but they are back into their stride.  The latest pictures refer.

In our earlier item we talked about the question of compaction. We are currently working on a 3-year programme where every 3-years our lands are subjected to a programme utilising chisel ploughs which works sufficiently deep to deal with compaction problems. The objective is to prevent compaction taking place but many of these farms have only recently been acquired and we are dealing with traditional compaction issues which go back 20 or 30 years or more.

Our pictures show Tumelo and Peter utilising our Case MX285 tractors. Their current programme involves covering 3,500 ha.

Below Tumelo Mohala (first pic) and Peter Khabele (next pic).
Both men are highly skilled operators.
