Revisiting Cosmos Festival April 2008
Added 4th July 2008

Even if you never missed a moment of the Cosmos Heritage event at Sandstone this year you would have missed a lot.

It is for that reason that we encourage our visitors to share their photos with us.

This superb set of pictures were taken by Danie Du Toit and his family. We love the pictures of his wife and children and in particular the creative positioning. It made us marvel at the impact that these events must have on children. Enjoy them with us.

Thanks Danie... a wonderful set of pictures that allow us to bask in the afterglow of the weekend back in April.

Regarding our attendace of the festival, myself, my wife (Sonja) and our two children Amineh (3) and Ulrich (2) thoroughly enjoyed the festival, I was one of the original Hogsville Ystermanne that took part in the world record attempt, I drove the ironwheel CASE with the perpendicularly mounted engine, personally I am more into old tractors, static engines and military vehicles.

We camped in the camping area between the ablutions and the dam, the cold nights didn't go off so well with the kids, but they still enjoyed the camping as a whole, the sunrises and sunsets were spectacular, our son is crazy about Tractors, static engines large machinery in general and trains , he can already distinguish between tractors, combine's, graders etc at the age of two.

Our daughter enjoys the old cars especially the old Chev fire truck and trains, my wife and the kids went on one of the train rides around the farm which they really enjoyed, Sonja enjoys camping and the time away from work.

I drove your Alvis Saracen during the practice runs for the final vehicle parade, unfortunately the cold nights in the tent caught up with us and our son became ill and we had to leave earlier, thus I could not partake in the final parade.

Regards
Danie du Toit
