Some
of South Africa's most experienced rail photographers were in attendance over
the Cosmos Festival weekend. We allow photographers free entry to the
site and we provide every opportunity to optimise the photographic potential
of the area. By now images of Narrow Gauge locomotives operating in the beautiful Eastern Free State must have reached into
the consciousness of many rail enthusiasts around the world.
We
have pleasure in publishing two sets of photographs. Firstly one set from;

Free State
Explorer. With all the buzz and excitement regarding the Cosmos Festival, the Sherman tank and everything, one forgets that a mighty train arrived in the Eastern Free State on Thursday and departed again on Sunday morning.
Lee Gates from Reefsteamers has sent us these excellent photographs which capture the scope and mood of the locomotive experience.
